What Is Smoke Testing?

Because so much of your plumbing system remains unseen, and because plumbers don’t want to have to dig up your property or rip apart your walls each time you suspect you have an issue, we resort to smoke testing instead. During this, our plumbers force a harmless, nontoxic smoke through your plumbing system using slight pressure to ensure it travels all the way through. We then watch for escaping plumes of smoke and mark these locations. Whenever smoke escapes, it means there is some kind of defect that needs to be repaired.
